Urban Tree Project & PayPhone Productions

Urban Tree Project are currently working in collaboration with “One Million Trees in One Day” in a project that promotes and forges a partnership ensuring the value of native trees within an urban context. Our pedagogical rational is to develop upon a continued, sustained discourse with various communities within Limerick City boundaries, on the ideas and aspirations that form the very basis of community life. We envision this work to be a positive step in promoting change at local level and re-imagining spaces within the city environs towards the restoration for the future.

Currently working in partnership with the Limerick City Environmental Dept. to facilitate “1 Million Trees in One Day” for the employment of Baggot Estate in Limerick City to plant 70 trees. It is our intention to develop upon the existing amenity park and to introduce the public to the wonders of this city woodland by collaborating with other agencies and environmental groups in Limerick.

The application of Urban Tree Project’s methodology has already established the history of our native trees through workshops facilitated by N.G.O. The Woodland League and supported by EVA Intrnational'12, which are provided for and with the participation of children and residents of a community in Limerick City Centre. We would wish to keep this ideology an open an active resource within our future endeavours. The providence of our native trees has now become paramount and it is this primary element, which we would like to also remain sustained within our project.
